A Special Thank You

Throughout the year, Women Against Abuse receives vital assistance from a number of lawyers and firms. We want to take a moment to recognize that pro bono work.

Thank you to...

Dechert, LLP for assisting with the appeal of a case in which a client was denied a PFA order without being given a hearing on her petition.

Momjian Anderer, LLC for assisting a client with the settlement of a complex divorce case that involves a long history of abuse.

Morgan Lewis and Bockius, LLP for assisting with an appeal for support case, and for providing legal research on a tax issue.

Supporter Spotlight: Stradley Ronon

Stradley Ronon, one of Philadelphia’s leading firms specializing in business law, was a premier sponsor at the Women Against Abuse Dish It Up fundraiser. As lawyers Barbara Nugent and Nancy Margolis (pictured at right) explain, the firm purchased over 50 additional tickets to entertain current and prospective clients at the event.

How did you come up with the idea to support Women Against Abuse through Dish It Up?
Stradley Ronon’s women attorneys hold a yearly event for their clients and prospects. The women attorneys at Stradley Ronon also focus on women and children in their pro bono work and community service.

We are aware of how many people Women Against Abuse has helped from all walks of life and with respect to all sorts and degrees of abuse. Given our commitment in this area through our voluntary pro bono efforts, supporting Women Against Abuse was an obvious choice and the Dish it Up event was a natural fit.

What did you think of Dish It Up?
We, along with our clients and prospects, thought the event was terrific, and enjoyed ourselves tremendously. It was wonderful to be able to support such a worthwhile cause all while having the opportunity to sample cuisine from some of the top female chefs in Philadelphia.

Give the Gift of Giving!

This year, the Women Against Abuse Holiday Gift Collection will take place:
